Dior-trained haute couture designer, China-born Huishan Zhang, has made a big buzz since he got his Fashion course Bachelor Degree at Central Saint Martins in London. Huishan later also obtained a master's degree in fashion, and was chosen by Delphine Arnault to work in the leather goods business while at a prestigious school, then Huishan Zhang finally started working at the Dior high fashion house.

"For me, working in Dior was a wonderful opportunity, I was not only surrounded by the most inspiring and talented people, but also had the opportunity to learn and apply the haute couture techniques which has since then helped me create my very own brand," Huishan said in a press interview.

Born and raised in Qingdao, China, Zhang moved abroad at the age of seventeen and has since lived in Paris, New Zealand and London. Huishan was more influenced by his Chinese heritage, particularly the aspects of craftsmanship and design in his home country, but he took these initial inspirations through his own cosmopolitan lens to produce typical female silhouettes.

Huishan Zhang won a Collective Dorchester Fashion Award in 2013 and just two years after he launched his brand.

The Huishan Fashion Collection was chosen as the number one collection for the year of 2011 by Browns, the same store that carried the fashion collections of alumni John Galliano and Hussain Shalian. 

Zhang told The Telegraph that he aspires to build a special style for the Chinese lifestyle, not just a fashion and a brand without an identity.
